A dispatch to the Savannah Republican,
dated Cedar Keys, Fla., July 5th, says: |
"The schooners Fanny,
Basseede and Three Brothers, of New Orleans, and Olive Branch, of
Mobile, which had been captured by the Federal steamer Massachusetts,
and sent as prizes to Key West, were captured off Cedar Keys on the
3rd inst., by the Florida forces. They are loaded with railroad iron
and brick. Lieut. Seldon, of the Federal navy and nineteen seamen were
taken prisoners and sent to Tallahassee. The Captain and crews of the
four vessels are here safe and will be sent home." |
