The Danville Railroad |
We were pleased to see on our streets, last week, Lewis
E. Harvie, Esq., President of the Richmond & Danville R. R. Co., who was
confined to his room for several months, by the accidental fracture of
one of his thighs. |
Col. Chas. G. Talcott, the Superintendent of the road,
resigned his position last week, and will again give the benefit of his
engineering talents to Gen. Lee. |
Col. Thos. Dodamead has been appointed his successor,
and we are sure that a better selection could not have been made.
Colonel D. is well qualified by experience and indomitable energy for
the responsible position to which he has been called. |
President Harvie and Superintendent Dodamead are
something more than a "whole team," when working together, and under
their combined administration of affairs, we may anticipate every
possible improvement in the operations and management of the roads. |
