The High Bridge |
A bill has passed both Houses of the
General Assembly, authorizing a change on the line of the South Side
railroad, so as to avoid the "High Bridge" near Farmville,
the altitude of which has deterred many persons from traveling over
the road. Timid passengers who have passed over this lofty bridge, in
a train of cars, have involuntarily closed their eyes, and committed
themselves to the care of Providence. The railroad company will
promote their interests, and relieve the traveling community, by
proceeding forthwith to make the contemplated change in the line of
the road. |
