Notice to Shippers |
Arrangements have been made by the
Richmond & Danville Railroad Company whereby Down Freight, intended for
shipment at the port of Richmond, and also up Freight arriving at
Richmond by water and having for its destination any point accessible to
this Company by its own line, or by Through Freight arrangement with any
other roads, will be received from or delivered to vessels direct. Thus
relieving the shippers of such freight from all charges for drayage or
wharfage, and at the same time facilitating the speedy transport of
goods. |
Parties delivering goods which they desire
should be shipped at Richmond under this arrangement will so state at
the time of their delivery. |
The Railroad Company will, when required,
attend to effecting an insurance on such goods to all points of the
United States, and bills of Lading per steamers or sailing vessels will
be forwarded to consignors and consignees. |
