The following resolutions were adopted at the late Convention of Manufacturers in North Carolina:
   *****
The following is a comparison of the number of car loads of coal (Midlothia) transported on the Richmond & Danville railroad from 1st January to 1st December, to the coal yard in Richmond: (1) to the coal yard, opposite Rocketts; (2) to boats, for Tredegar Works, etc., (3) and to Bell Isle, (4):
  1 2 3 4 Total
1861 1,576 483 291 304 2,654
1862 1,837 1083 585 466 3,971
Increase 261 600 294 162 1,217
A car load is estimated to contain 6 3/4 tons, so that the receipts from 1st January to 1st December, this year except the quantity sent to Belle Isle, was 3,505 car loads, or 23,658 tons; and same time '61, 15,850 tons. Increase 6,541 tons. We have a record showing that the receipts of coal, by this railroad, from 1st January to 1st December '60 were 31,072 tons; and same time, in '59, 26,847 tons.
