At a meeting of the Directors of this Road
on the 19th inst., Stephen D. Wallace, Esq., was chosen to fill the
vacancy occasioned by the death of Capt. Gilbert Potter. P. K.
Dickinson, Esq., of Wilmington, was nominated for the office of
President, made vacant by the death of Hon. W. S. Ashe, but declined
it, whereupon Stephen D. Wallace, Esq., of the same place was
unanimously elected President. Mr. Wallace has long been actively and
efficiently connected with the Road, and brings to the discharge of
its duties, large experience and fine business talents. |
