| Death of Hon. Wm. S. Ashe |
| Hon. Wm. S. Ashe died on Sunday night
last, in Wilmington, of the wounds received on Friday evening from the
collision of the mail train with the hand-car which he was in. He had
represented New Hanover County in the Senate, the Wilmington District
in Congress, and was President of the Wilmington & Weldon Railroad
Company at the time of his death. He was in his 50th year. He was a
genial, kind-hearted gentleman, and his death is deplored by a large
circle of friends. |
