Coal Fields Railroad Western
RR} |
This Road we learn, is completed or nearly
so, to within two miles of the Egypt Coal mines in Chatham. Why it has
not been completed, is a matter of inquiry about now. The want of
funds is perhaps the only good reason. Can they not be obtained? Will
not the Legislature give a helping hand in this Matter? It is a matter
of the utmost importance to the mining interests of Deep River that it
should be completed. Many hundred of tons of coal are already waiting
transportation. Our Southern cities would probably consume 1000 tons,
if it could be obtained. Cannot the means be obtained to complete the
Road at once? We hope so. |
