An Ordinance to repeal the ninth section of the Charter
of the Cheraw & Coalfields Railroad, as amended by the Legislature
of 1860-'61 |
Be it ordained, by the Delegates of the
people of North Carolina, in Convention assembled, and it is hereby
ordained by the authority of the same, That section nine of an act
passed in 1861 to revive and continue in force an act to incorporate
the Cheraw & Coalfields Railroad Company, passed at the session of
1856-'57 chapter sixty six, be, and the same is hereby repealed: Provided,
That the said Cheraw & Coalfields Railroad Company shall do as
much work and expend as much money in the construction of their road
north of the Wilmington, Charlotte & Rutherford Railroad as they
do south at the same time; and said road shall not cross, tap or
connect with the said Wilmington, Charlotte & Rutherford Railroad
further west than twelve miles from the town of Rockingham, and shall,
in five years after the close of the present war, complete the road to
the Coalfields in Chatham county, or its charter shall thereupon cease
and determine. |
Passed and ratified in open Convention, on
the 10th day of May, A. D. 1862. |
