We learn that the Directors of the Raleigh
& Gaston Railroad, at a meeting held here on Friday last,
unanimously expressed their gratification at the prospect of the
construction of the Chatham Coalfields Road {Chatham
RR}, and recommended to the Stockholders the propriety of
taking stock in said Road. The stockholders of the R. & G. Road
will hold their annual meeting in this City in July next, and we think
it probable that they will subscribe handsomely to the Coalfields
Road, provided the latter shall be so located as to connect with the
Gaston Road at this place. |
