Scarcity of Corn in Savannah |
The Republican says that many poor
people in Savannah -- women and children -- are suffering for want of
food, and that they cannot get enough of corn meal, owing to the fact
that railroad transportation is monopolized by the government; and
urges that the government appoint one day in each week when the
railroads will be permitted to bring corn and other provisions to our
suffering people. |
