A message was received from the governor
transmitting a communication from H. W. Guion, Esq., President of the
Wilmington, Charlotte & Rutherford Railroad, relative to an order
from the War Department to seize, for the use of the Confederate
government, certain railroad iron, upon which the State holds a claim
by virtue of a mortgage. |
On motion of Mr. Fowle, the message and

refer the same to a joint selected committee of three on the Part of
the Senate and five on the part of the House. |
