The passenger train from Richmond to
Staunton {the Virginia Central RR} on the
16th inst., ran off the track near Charlottesville, precipitating
several cars over a precipice, killing 7 and wounding 50 soldiers.
Among the wounded were two North Carolina soldiers, D. C. McMasters,
Company I, 22d Reg. N. C. V., injured in both hips, and W. A.
Loudermilk, Company C, 2d N. C. V., both thighs broken. |
