Supplies from the Country |
The notice of the President of the {Virginia}
Central Railroad Company, that everything shall be done within
its power to facilitate the transportation of freight to this city
when the trains are not preoccupied by the Government, will, it is
hoped, have an effect to forward from the country the market supplies
which are now so much needed. Farmers need have no fear of the
impressments monster, for the laws now guarantees a fair compensation
for all articles seized. Neither can they hesitate on account of
prices, for they are now high enough to admit of some margin for
reduction in the event that an abundant supply should lead to such a
result. |
