Railroad Convention |
A meeting of the Presidents and
Superintendents of a majority of the railroads in the Southern
Confederacy was held in the gentlemen's parlor of the passenger depot
in Macon, Ga. Thursday, the 25th ultimo for the purpose of regulating
the rates of Government freight. The rates fixed upon will be
published at an early day. All the roads in the State of Georgia were
represented, and a majority of the railroads in all the States of the
Confederacy, except Virginia. |
