From Charleston & Savannah Railroad |
By passengers by the South Carolina
railroad last evening, we were informed that two trains came through
from Savannah to Charleston, on Saturday night, "as it were by
running the gauntlet." The enemy threw several shells at them,
but both trains escaped without injury. |
After the trains passed, the enemy cut the
Charleston & Savannah road, at a point near Grahamville. The
telegraph wire was also destroyed by them. |
