| An Executive communication was
sent into Congress yesterday stating that the Government had made a
contract with the Richmond & Danville Railroad Company, under the style
of the Piedmont Railroad Company, for the completion of the railroad
connecting the Richmond & Danville with the North Carolina railroad. The
company has secured the charter and commenced operations, but the War
Department is not informed of their progress. |
