As the mail train on the
Virginia & Tennessee Railroad was approaching this city yesterday
morning, the engine came in contact with a large rock lying on the
track, by which it (the engine) was pretty generally smashed up. No
other damage, we believe, was done, and "nobody was hurt." The
passengers walked from the scene of the disaster ( a distance of half a
mile) to the city. |
