Mr. Quesenberry called for the
order of the day, which was the consideration of the bill providing for
the construction of a railroad for military purposes, connecting the
Manassas Gap railroad, at or near Strasburg, in the county of
Shenandoah, with the Winchester & Potomac railroad, at or near
Winchester, in the county of Frederick. |
Mr. Johnson moved to lay the
bill on the table, and take up the bill exempting certain persons from
military duty. |
The bill was accordingly laid
