The House bill to authorize a
railroad connection between Fredericksburg and Manassas was taken up.
Letters from Generals Johnston, Beauregard and Whiting, favorable to the
earliest construction of the road as a military necessity of the first
importance, were read from the Clerk's desk. |
Pending the discussion of the
bill, the Senate adjourned. |
