The Accident on the {Richmond
&} Danville Railroad |
About
thirty-four miles above Richmond, as stated in yesterday’s
“Enquirer,” an accident occurred on the Danville Railroad, causing
the death of five persons, one of whom was Mr. Little, of Pulaski
county, another, Mr. Kent, of this city, and the other three were
negroes on board the train. The engine was not thrown off, but some
defect in the track becoming developed before the train could get
over, threw off two coaches, with the result above mentioned, injuring
slightly several other passengers. |
