Another Railway Runaway |
On
Saturday afternoon, a train of empty flats, some eight or ten in
number, standing on the temporary track on Broad street, started down
the hill on their own hook, and, of course, pretty soon accumulated a
lightning speed. – Upon reaching the {Virginia}
Central depot, two of the hindmost swung off the track, and the
others pitched into a large locomotive that had just been brought
down. Two of the cars were smashed up. They belong to the
Fredericksburg Railroad Company {Richmond,
Fredericksburg & Potomac RR}. |
