Reticence |
Some weeks ago our newspapers informed the
Yankees that an enormous amount of rolling
stock had been carried up to Grenada. But not content with this some correspondents told their readers and
the Yankees that Johnston
was re-building the bridge over Pearl river
in order to run off this stock and save it. In other words Grant was
told to hurry on his raiding parties. He was not slow to take the hint
and a terrible calamity has been the result. |
