Railroad Accident |
Five trains of empty cars, due in the city
at 8 o'clockyesterday morning, via {Virginia} Central
Railroad, were detained until 5 o'clock, in consequence of the track
spreading about one mile cast of Atlee's Water Station, by which the locomotive
of the foremost train and one car were thrown from the track. Some
little uneasiness was manifested at the depot, not knowing the cause
of the delay; but, as soon as the facts were made known, force was
sent up the road to place the engine on the track, when they all came
in without further interruption. |
