Yankee Depredations in Mississippi |
Atlanta, Aug. 20 |
A special to the Appeal, dated
Jackson, Aug. 18th, says a party of Federal cavalry from Yazoo City
reached Durant Station, on the Mississippi Central Railroad, where
they captured a train and cut the telegraph wires. Serious destruction
northward on the road is apprehended. |
A special to the Appeal, dated
Canton, 19th, says the Yankees have captured Yaden. Neither the rolling
stock nor the track were injured. The Yankees are carrying two
engines and trains northward. |
