Hospital supplies |
We understand that in Wythe county {on
the Virginia & Tennessee RR} there
is the greatest abundance of supplies suitable for the nourishment of
the sick in the hospitals, which the people are anxious to forward to Richmond, but find it difficult to do so in consequence of the limited means
of transportation and exorbitant rates of freight. The example of
attaching a freight car to the regular
train, for the purpose of bring in supplies of this nature free of
charge, has been set by one of our railroad companies, and it might be
worthily followed by all. |
