Car burnt |
As the cars of the Petersburg Railroad
Company were on their way to this city yesterday, sparks from the engine
set fire to a long car loaded with cotton and one hogshead of bacon.
As soon as the flames were discovered efforts were made to stay their
progress. The cotton was consumed, the hogshead of bacon saved. The
accident delayed the train several hours. |
