Railroad Convention at Chattanooga |
We learn from one of the
representatives to the Railroad
Convention, which assembled on Tuesday last at Chattanooga, that a
resolution was adopted to receive the Treasury notes of the
Confederate States at par for freights and fare. All, or nearly all of
the Southern railroads were represented in the Convention. This action
will go far to put the notes of the young Republic on a firm and
uniform basis, and is entitled to the commendation of every Southern
man. |
