Fire at Wilmington |
Wilmington, May 27 |
|
A fire broke out here at half-past 2
o'clock this evening on the west side of the river, just north of the {Wilmington
&} Manchester railroad depot, which burned some sheds and a large warehouse with
the contents, consisting of spirits turpentine, and 1,500 bales of
cotton, the latter principally belonging to the Government. The loss
is believed to be heavy. The railroad is probably
uninjured. |
