A noble contribution |
The Board of Directors of the
Central Railroad Company of Georgia
passed the following resolutions on the 21st inst.: |
Resolved, That this company
will contribute the sum of one thousand dollars in cash, and one
hundred dollars per month, during the continuance of the war, toward a
fund to be raised for the benefit of the families of those persons
belonging to Savannah who have volunteered, or who may volunteer, to
serve in the army. |
Resolved, That the President
be, and he is hereby, instructed to make this subscription, and to pay
the amount so soon as a committee shall be appointed by the City
Council of Savannah to take charge of and distribute the fund. |
