Man run over and killed |
As a train of cars was going
South over the Petersburg and Weldon Railroad
{the Petersburg RR} yesterday evening, it
ran over a man named G. Scroggins, who was killed instantly. He was
observed by the Conductor walking on the track, and the latter blew
the whistle, and Scroggins got off. When the train was again in
motion, he got on the track again, and was run over and instantly
killed. Deceased was probably inebriated. No blame can be attached to
the officers of the train, as they did all they could to prevent the
accident. |
