Notice |
The Capital Stock of the "Piedmont
Railroad Company" having been all taken by the Richmond &
Danville Railroad Company and others, it is desired by them and the
Government of the Confederate States that the work of construction
should be commenced and completed as speedily as possible. |
Some delay being otherwise necessary for
the new company to be organized, in the meantime notice is hereby
given to all persons having hands to hire, that employment may be
obtained for such hands on the line of the said railroad as such as
the Piedmont Railroad Company is organised, which is expected to be in
about thirty or forty days from this line; and all such persons are
requested to communicate speedily with the President of the Richmond
& Danville Railroad Company, or with Vincent Witcher and John R.
Edmonds, of the Directors, who are authorized to make provisional
agreements for the employment of such hands for that purpose. |
