On Wednesdayafternoon, in
consequence of the washing away of a portion of the {Virginia}

of a special train, in charge of Mr. Ragland, was forced into Sutton's
mill-pond, about seventeen miles from this city. The engineer, Mr.
Ragland, was considerably bruised. His machine is now in the pond,
from which the water has been drawn. |
