The railroads |
The upward bound mail train of the {Virginia}
Central road was detained several hours, yesterday, by the fore
wheels of the engine running off the
track when about two hundred yards from Gordonsville. The
engine of another train, bound down, ran off just beyond
Gordonsville. The down train was several hours behind last night, in
consequence of these accidents. |
The
Fredericksburg
train, due Sundayevening, got in about one o'clockyesterday, and
reported the track clear. A detention of the accommodation train from Petersburg
{Richmond & Petersburg RR} was caused by a locomotive getting off the track at the bridge, but no
damage was done. |
