Iron for the Manassas Gap Railroad |
British bark Louisa has just arrived at Alexandria, says the
Gazette, with 450 tons of iron rails;
and the American ship Joseph Clark is below, with 1,500 tons of iron rails
for the same company, which, with the cargo of the British brig
Pertshire, 300 tons, just landed, completes the whole of the contract
for iron to carry the road to Harrisonburg. {About
24 miles of 60# rail, both tracks.} |
