Railroad meeting |
A number of railroad
officers, representing Southern lines, met at the Exchange
Hotel yesterday to consider the subject of establishing manufactories
of railroad iron. Mr. Hawkins, of the
Raleigh & Gaston road, was chosen chairman, and Messrs. Talcott
and Vandergrift secretaries. Without transacting any business of
importance, the meeting adjourned until night. We shall endeavor to
give an abstract of the proceedings to-morrow. |
