Detention of the Cars |
The mail train of the {Virginia}
Central railroad due in this city at 15 minutes past 6 o'clock
Thursday did not arrive until 11 o'clock of the same night, owing to
the delay occasioned by the accommodation train running off the track
at Atlee's Station, nine miles from Richmond, by the misplacement of a
switch. The engine of the latter train
was placed on the track as soon as a sufficient force could be
obtained to effect the object, when the regular train came on to the
city. No injury was done to person or property. |
