Clarksville, Mecklenburg, Oct. 18th, 1861 |
Yesterday the annual meeting of
stockholders in the Roanoke Valley Railroad transpired in this town.
Owing to the failure of the company to pay the interest on its
coupons, the bond-holders made an effort to place the road in the
hands of a trustee. After a warm discussion, the effort failed, and
the stockholders proceeded to re-elect Mr. Henry
Wood President of the road. |
