Negro Hiring in Raleigh |
The State Journal says negroes
hired in Raleigh
Friday, on an average, at about twenty-five per cent higher than last
year. The prices for able-bodied men ranged from $100 to $300 -- the
latter for railroad work. A number of
negroes were sold at prices ranging over twenty-five per cent below
the prices of one month ago. |
