To Merchants of Richmond. All merchants
receiving freight from the South, which is shipped from Petersburg to
Richmond by Virginia Towing Company Lighters, are notified that the
freights and charges must be paid before the goods are taken from the
depot in Petersburg. All claims for damages or overcharges must he
made before the goods are shipped from Petersburg, and unless goods
are taken from the depot in 48 hours after being unloaded, they will
be stored at the expense of the owner. Unless otherwise ordered, goods
will be shipped either by railroad or
lighters, as the agents may think most expeditious. |
