New Orleans, June 14, 1861
   At a meeting of the Board of Directors of this Company held on the 12th inst., it was
   Resolved, That the following notice be published in the Picayune.
   The President and Directors of the New Orleans, Jackson & Great Northern Railroad Company, do hereby give notice, that they will aply to the Legislatures of Louisiana and Mississippi, at their next session, to change the Charter of the Company, in accordance with the following resolution passed at the Meeting of the Stockholders of the Company, held on the 16th day of April last:
   Resolved, That the Directors of the Company be required to memorialize the Legislatures of Louisiana and Mississippi, at the earliest opportunity, to so change the law or Charter of the Company, that neither the said States, nor the city of New Orleans, shall vote upon Stock held and owned by them respectively; but that the Stock of each of the said States, and of the said city, shall be represented by three directors, each appointed in the manner they shall direct.
