| Col. Walter Goodman |
| We were pleased to meet
yesterday, Col. Walter Goodman, President of Mississippi Railroad, who
has just returned from a foreign trip abroad, having visited the grand
metropolis of the Black Republican State of New York, where he was
waited upon by the Vigilance Committee, had his baggage searched for
treasonable documents, and received other distinguished courtesies at
the hands of the Lincoln Gothamites. |
| The Colonel, we are pleased to
say, however, has neither suffered in personal appearance nor in health
by the trip. |
