Georgia Railroads Damaged |
The Macon Telegraph of the
10th says: |
The rain Tuesday night was the
heaviest witnessed for many years throughout Middle Georgia. Every
railroad running towards Macon, except the Macon & Western, was
washed away in places, and a general stoppage or detention of trains
followed. The Southwestern line, we learn, was so badly injured that
it will be some days before the trains can pass over it. Over three
hundred feet of the Central {(of Georgia)} track, between Nos. 14 and 15 were washed
away, and passengers will have to exchange cars until it is restored. |
