| Land Slide on the Memphis and Clarksville
Railroad |
| The Memphis Appeal, of the 7th
says: |
| A heavy land slide occurred on
the Memphis and Clarksville Railroad {the
Memphis, Clarksville & Louisville RR} yesterday morning, some distance
east of the Tennessee river, which prevented trains from reaching the
bridge. A large force of laborers will be necessary to remove the
obstruction within the next three days. Between forty and fifty cars
belonging to the Memphis & Ohio Railroad are detained east of the
point where the accident occurred. |
