| Nothing worthy of note
occurred on our way to Montgomery {from Pensacola}
during Tuesday, but on Friday morning, the special train
immediately preceding ours was thrown off the track by a breaking of
some of the cross ites, occasioning a delay until evening, when both
trains got underway again, and landing us in Montgomery much later than
we had desired, as we contemplated leaving the nest morning at daybreak,
