| The Alabama Legislature passed
a bill donating to the Confederate States one square mile of land
situated on some part of the line of the Alabama & Tennessee River
Railroad, on which to erect a Government Foundry, etc., and also
privileges to be extended to the Confederates to purchase material,
etc., in the counties adjacent. |
