Mr. J. H. Pratt gave us a very cheering
account of the prospects of the Railroad from Jefferson designed to
connect with the Memphis and El Paso road {Memphis,
El Paso & Pacific RR}. This work, when completed, will add
largely to the business of our sister town; and, that it will be
constructed under the present energetic contractors, we cannot doubt.
We hope that before it is finished, our citizens will make the
necessary preparations to extend the road to Marshall, to connect with
the Southern Pacific. |
