Dear Sir, |
I have just returned from
Congress at Montgomery. I got an Act passed confiscating the iron to
your company. I left Saturday, and they did not pass it until Monday
or Tuesday; do not know precise time I got a dispatch saying the iron
was ??ed to your company. My friend is on the way home with full
instructions. I want you to meet me at Shreveport. I will, as soon as
I get authority, take the Saracen with her load of Iron to Shreveport,
and want you to instruct Carroll, Hoy & Co., to pay us for it on
delivery there. We will run it to Moufa by first water in the fall,
and no mistake -- we are bound to put it through. You can
publish any portion of this. Judge Ochit?? is to be remembered for
carrying this thing through. |
Respectfully, |
G. L. Kouns |
