Rector W. L. Mellichampe went
to Leaksville today to conduct the funeral service of Mrs. Gertrude
Sharp, wife of Mr. Thomas R. Sharp, a retired railroad man, at her
country home "Edgewood." Mrs. Sharp was suddenly ill Wednesday at about
5 o'clock. It is thought that the death was due to an attack of heart
trouble. The deceased was about 72 years of age and besides her husband
is survived by the following children: Miss Lucy Ashby Sharp, of near
Spray; Messrs. George and Thomas R. Sharp, Jr., of Washington, D. C.,
and Mrs. Bird Myer, of Buffalo, N. Y. Mrs. Sharp was born in Lynchburg,
and was a woman of high Christian character. |
