Railroad Accident |
On Friday the 4th inst., the locomotive D. S. White, on
the Mississippi & Tennessee R. R., exploded whilst at Love's
Station, tearing the engine into atoms, and instantly killing the
engineer, Mr. Wm. Doherty, and the fireman Mr. Donus. The explosion
was caused by letting cold water into the boiler when nearly empty and
very hot. This but adds another to the long list of accidents caused
in a similar manner.
